The Chilldown Period - Episode Fifteen

April... oh the month of showers - both from the clouds and of music!

Okay, I'll stop with the waxing poetic stuff... it isn't suiting me so well right now.

This month has been a blast sharing music with you first from Moshi Kamachi, then the wobble wobble womp womp of the dubstep show, and back to basics with some good ole fashioned chillout.

A couple of corrections and/or additions:

The name of the song from Ocoeur on this episode is Hidden Floor and Isaboe's album is called Love Sun, not Lone Sun as I said. Also, ASiH is not a word, it's A Study in Her...

man, I need to do my research before I open my mouth!

With that out of the way, it's time to bring out the track listing!

Dubstep Directive - initiate

Update 9 April 2010 - I redid the whole show... My apologies for my unprofessionalism once again - there is no excuse.

Links to the original picture used for the cover and its CC license:

The 8th of April is finally here and my first dubstep mix is going live! Thanks to everyone who helped to make this what it is: from the artists who produce the music to the labels and netlabels who bring it to us, to those on twitter who have helped with feedback, and finally to you the listener who help make this happen.

For those whom I didn't mention on the podcast that I need to make a shout out to, we have infraBuse, KidLogic and my friends and neighbors alongside my wife, Lady Ten10, for their time, effort, and listening to my show over and over again: Thanks!

I call this show "initiate" because it is my first step into the dubstep world. Sure, I've had songs on other shows with that wobble wobble thump thump, but this is my first try at a dubstep show. I hope you enjoy it and don't be afraid to share feedback with me!

(oh, the B1t Crunch3r album is called Neuro Science - I made that mistake on the podcast)

Now it's time for the showlisting!

Turntable Thoughts - check them out!

Just a quick note to let you all know about a site I check out regularly and a podcast I listen to as well. Turntable Thoughts is a site which brings us all up to date on fresh sounds and tight beats, much in the same vein as You'll Soon Know (another great site). They were kind enough to link back to Episode 14 of the Chilldown Period, so I'll do my long awaited duty and give them some space on the blog so you all can get a better chance to know them.

Their show is an eclectic mix from episode to episode ranging from jazz to hip hop to dubstep to sheer dub. Godfather Sage, EJ Flavors and house DJ Silence all take to the mp3-waves to help your day groove by.

Here's my final advice: Check them out!

Tha Silent Partner - Starksy - blocSonic release

I need to show some love to blocSonic! They put out some great music and I think I'll be spending a lot more time at their site digging through their archives.

They recently released another maxi-single from Tha Silent Partner who has an album released under their XE series (following the awesome Songs about Something XE by Just Plain Ant).

Currently listening to the album - it's quality.

Oh, the single is called "Starksy". Go grab it and you'll enjoy it.
