Dubstep Directive - Never Enough Vol. 1

It's time to get down to business! This is just PART ONE of our two part Dubstep Directive experience this month and I have to give a LOT of credit to Wil and the Fat Kid on Fire Crew! They have put out so many awesome tunes lately that I couldn't contain myself and just use one or two in this month's show. I've dropped a metric tonne of their tunes, as well as massive tunes from Gradient Audio, Bacon Dubs, Dirt First, Elk Beats, and other fine labels and artists.

Chilldown Period - Episode 47 - Vladivostok

Здравствуйте!

This month, on our musical journey around the world, we are heading to the Russian Far East to the port city of Vladivostok!

First off, I want to say спасибо to all the artists, labels, and to Katia and Vladislav for the pictures.
I used Katia's photo from Eagle's Nest Hill which can be found here with the license here. I used Vladislav's copy of the Vladivostok Coat of Arms found here with the license here. And also a thank you to the Mahalo video language series with Anna Savostikova. Oh, I can't forget Far From Moscow!

When I was younger, I used to read the encyclopedia and watch the news quite often. I remember one night watching the news and there was a report from Vladivostok, Russia about a rock concert or something. The name intrigued me and I checked it out on the map of Russia to see where it was at. I was also recently reading up on professional football (FC Luch-Energiya Vladivostok) in Vladivostok and the complaints teams from Moscow and St. Petersburg had on traveling to Vladivostok and the distance it took to get there. An analog here in the states would be an American Football team traveling from Utah, Arkansas, or New Jersey to Hawai'i. It's just a shade under 4000 miles (6400 km) between Moscow and Vladivostok.

From the photos and the videos of Vladivostok and the quick read on a little bit of the city's history, I would say that it would be another place I would love to visit sometime in my life.

Elizabete Balčus - Wooden Horse

I featured Elizabete a few months ago on the Chilldown Period's Latvia Episode. She is tremendous and her vocals and orchestration are goose bump inducing! There is tenderness and power behind her vocals which compels you to listen. The keys, strings, accordion, etc., help carry her vocal message from your speakers to your ears. This stupendous combination helped her win 2011's "Best Debut" at the Latvian Music Records Annual Awards.

I would love to hear either Delta X, Owsey, Asa, Stumbliene, Jafu, XXYYXX, Miramasa or Loefah do a remix of "Wooden Horse".
