Kon - Ask Questions

I have been following Kon for a while now on Soundcloud. He's an up and comer and is honing his craft well. This next tune is a solid, silky smooth stepper. Also, some news from me:

We are moving from Idaho to South Carolina this week and we've been busy getting ready for the trip. It will take 2500 miles for us to get to our destination (almost like going from Sydney, NSW to Perth, WA or Moscow to Krasnoyarsk in Russia or from London in the UK to Samara in Russia). Plus, I also have an upper respiratory infection for this last week before we leave! HA!

This will also mean the podcasts will be coming out a bit slower than normal because of this transistion.

Chilldown Period - Episode 48 - Intropy

Hey Folks!

It's time to bring back the Chilldown Period after a short hiatus. Now it's time to bring back the midtempo chill with an hour and a quarter of beat filled greatness.

I was trying to find a proper word for how I feel and a portmanteau came to mind: Intropy. Didn't know what it completely meant and when I found it at Urban Dictionary it fit: Inertia and Entropy. Inertia is energy at rest and Entropy is disorder. My mind is moving at 1000 miles per hour but with the way things are going I can't go anywhere. And it is frustrating.

Plus, we are moving across the country - so my gears are grinding.

Sorry if that was too much sharing. And the photo of the child with his head in his hands is perfect for how I feel.

More artists you should pay attention to - Whomping Willow crew

I forgot when I came across the dynamic duo of G. Spin and Piecemeal from Big Sky Country. I think I was listening to another artists on soundcloud and I came across a comment in the timeline from "Whomping Willow" and sometime the name makes me go further down the rabbit hole.

Holy Moly Guacamole was I impressed and I am STILL impressed! Let's start off with a diddy from the team up of Whomping Willow called Augment.







Now let's dig into a couple of soundwaves from G. Spin - get your shock absorbers ready!







Let's finish up with a couple more deep space reaching tunes from Piecemeal.






This is one of those times where I wish I owned a night club. I would have the Dirt First Crew, Whomping Willows and the Elk Herd from Elk Beats and Noah D. These are things I have in my dreams.

Two artists you should check out - Oudjat and Grog

First up, Oudjat! He has an astounding knack for deep, visceral, eerie music. It's enough to haunt and delight you. Such big stuff. I'll give you a taste with his Violence of Violins track.






Secondly, Grog. Why hasn't Grog's tunes been signed yet? He is putting out some Proper stuff! His "Untitled" has everything you want from percussion, to bass, to atmospherics, etc. Also, his Anthrophilia makes you want to spray your house down with it's insect by your ear sounds. You know that one insect that wakes you up in the middle off the night, buzzing around your ear.

Decibel's WOT and Yung Bhear's Calamari

I have been put on the lead of two smashing tunes!

First up is Decibel's WOT! Get your asthma inhalers ready cause this tune is BBBBIIIIIIGGGG!! I hope this one gets a release soon! Massive stuff! Update: Decibel replied to my tweet and said expect WOT to be out later on this year on We Are Speakerbox Recordings. Safe for the info!!

Secondly, we have Yung Bhear's tune Calamari! His technique and flow are improving wonderfully and I hope this tune gets a lot of attention!
